The IBoot System Software package is instrumental in reducing the time to market and improving the manufactured product quality. The IBoot Product was developed internally to provide our manufacturing group with a means to test and diagnose hardware devices, capture the resulting data for future reference and simplify the packaging and bundling of hardware. The use of IBoot by our manufacturing group has resulted in phenomenally lower than expected support costs and an in the field failure rate less than .01%.
Due to the nature of the technology industry, time to market is critical. And, since, PSI strives to maintain its lead in the technology sector, the IBoot project's goals were to create an environment that fostered rapid hardware and software development that resulted in quality product.

The IBoot Product Pyramid shown above depicts how PSI has structured the product to meet the needs of many different sectors.
· Level 1 - supports testing and diagnostic software for the end user where the end user could be a manufacturing department, a support department or an individual using the hardware device. This product level is provided free of charge to customers using PSI products and, on the Innovator? and Minno? Development Kits, for example, includes the IBoot Host application, IBoot Core module and IBoot Applets.
· Level 2 - a rapid software development platform for hardware customization of PSI development kits (such as an Innovator? Expansion Module) or software demonstration. This level is geared at the OEM developing customized hardware or at the ISV desiring rapid development on the OMAP processor. It comes at a nominal charge and includes the first level contents, IBoot SDK, IBoot Applet source code, PSI OS driver source code and the DAL libraries.
